Meet Our Team

Dr John Sullivan – BA, B.Dent.Sc, Dip.Clin.Dent | P. Grad.Dip.Con.Sed.
John graduated from Trinity in 1994 and has previously worked in the UK and for the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia.
He established Carlow Dental Clinic in 2002, after working in Carlow for several years.
In 2015 he completed a postgraduate diploma in conscious sedation from Trinity College Dublin to supplement his previous qualification in sedation from Guy’s Hospital in London, 1995.
In 2008 he received a further Diploma in Clinical Dentistry from Trinity College Dublin.
John lives in Carlow with his wife Elaine and three children. He is a keen supporter of local sporting clubs especially Carlow Rugby Club.
He is also currently the president of the Carlow Lion’s Club.
John is a member of the international society of dental anxiety management, Irish society of conscious sedation in dentistry society for the advancement of anaesthesia in dentistry and a member of the of the Irish Dental Association.
His friendly manner and gentle approach are a hallmark of his good reputation.

Reda Smironova
Dental Nurse / Practice Manager
Reda previously worked in Dublin Dental hospital for 10 years before joining us in 2013. Her warm personality is matched by her exceptional high standards which make her a great asset to the practice.
Reda is originally from Lithuania and has a wonderful manner with patients and they can always expect a warm friendly smile from her.
Reda loves spending time with her Husband and 2 children!

Gina Coakley
Senior Dental Nurse / Receptionist
Gina is one of the first friendly smiling faces you will see at Sullivan Dental. Gina is the longest serving member of staff and a valued part of the team.
Her friendly personality is matched by her desire to do everything to the best of her ability. A real perfectionist!
A busy mother of 4, including triplets. Gina loves to keep fit and attends the gym most mornings!

Aoife Brennan
Dental Nurse / Receptionist
Aoife is the newest member of nursing staff, joining us in 2016. She began her career as a trainee dental nurse before qualifying from Trinity college Dublin in 2019, completing the National Dental Nurse training programme. Aoife has a chatty and relaxed personality which works wonders in making our patients’ feel welcome and comfortable in the surgery. Aoife thoroughly enjoys dealing with patients on a daily basis and enjoys her role as a dental nurse.
Aoife enjoys playing Gaelic football with her local club Killeshin.

Susanne Mealy
Dental Hygienist
Susanne trained as a general nurse before qualifying from Dublin dental hospital with distinction and a special award for clinical expertise in 2010 She has a huge interest in preventative dentistry, caring for nervous patients whilst delivering treatment to the highest standard in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Patients love her professional and gentle manner.
Susanne has 2 young sons that keep her on her toes!
